GREAT NEIGHBORHOODS OF COVINGTON, KY
Brownfield Grant Implementation
PROJECT BACKGROUND:
In 2013, the Center for Great Neighborhoods of Covington (CGNC) decided to implement funding received from a USEPA Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund Grant as part of revitalizing a former junkyard property. The junkyard property was in an area being redeveloped as a new commercial/residential district known as Shotgun Row. The site was targeted for cleanup and re-use as a much-needed parking area for area residents. The project was part of a larger community revitalization plan being spearheaded by CGNC. On September 25, 2014, the completed project was unveiled to the public.
